Hamas’s Qassam Brigade and the Red Cross are searching for the remains of the final Israeli captive, police officer Ran Gvili, in Gaza’s al-Zaitoun neighbourhood. The operation is taking place within the “Yellow Line”, still under Israeli control, with Egyptian equipment assisting the effort. Israel has permitted the search to speed up the recovery process, as retrieving this last body is essential for triggering the second phase of the ceasefire agreement. The Red Cross says it is acting as a neutral intermediary but warns that the extensive destruction in the area is making the search extremely challenging. Al Jazeera’s Ibrahim al-Khalili reports from Gaza City.
