Amid the positivity and relief about the prospect of peace in Gaza, not everybody has been thrilled by the sight of the US president honouring Prime Minister Netanyahu in the Knesset. The fact remains that more people now than ever, including among Trump’s base, are deeply uncomfortable about Israel’s influence on US politics and deeply skeptical about the prospects of a lasting peace with Netanyahu still in power.
