Trump calls Iranian nuclear facility bombing a 'virtual obliteration'

U.S. President Donald Trump on Wednesday called the U.S. bombardment of Iranian nuclear sites "a virtual obliteration". Speaking to reporters in the Hague during a meeting with NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte, Trump rejected reports that the U.S. attack caused little damage to Iran. He also said he believed Iran did not have enough time to secure the sites ahead of the U.S. attack to be able to continue enriching uranium. "I believe they didn't have a chance to get anything out because we acted fast" said Trump. The U.S. president also called the attack "a tremendous victory for everybody, including Iran." Trump was speaking alongside Pete Hegseth, U.S. Secretary of Defense, and Marco Rubio, U.S. Secretary of State. NATO member leaders, including Trump, gathered Wednesday for a summit in the Netherlands where they are expected to agree upon a new defense spending target of 5% of gross domestic product.
