The US on Wednesday used its veto power to block a resolution in the UN Security Council calling for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and supply of food for the territory’s starving population. It took Pakistan to take on the mighty US to call out the latter’s inhumane act. Angered by Pakistan’s criticism, the Uas representative then sought permission to make a further response. The resolution had 14 members voting in favour while the US exercised its veto power.
